Chattanooga, Tenn. (January 15, 2026)- The Department of Public Works would like to remind all residents that City Offices will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday, January 19, 2026.
The collection of residential Solid Waste and Recycling scheduled for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 19, 2026, will be collected as regularly scheduled. All residents must have their Solid Waste and Recycling containers at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on their designated collection day.
The following locations will be closed on MLK Day; Monday, January 19, 2026. The facilities listed below will resume regular hours on Tuesday, January 20, 2026:
- City of Chattanooga Administrative Offices.
- Household Hazardous Waste Facility
- Wood Recycle Center
- Refuse Collection Centers
- Recycle Collection Centers
- City Landfill, located off Birchwood Pike in Harrison, TN.
