An apparent electrical fire damaged an East Chattanooga home Tuesday morning. At 9:11 AM on 2/18/25, Green Shift companies responded to the 2000 block of North Chamberlain Avenue. The residents woke up, smelled something burning and found that the house was on fire. Firefighters found the back of the structure engulfed in flames on arrival. They went inside to make sure that everyone was out and learned that all occupants were safe. Then they attacked the fire through the front door and through a side window. Once the fire was out, crews conducted overhaul and checked for any extension. There were no injuries. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents. Engine 4, Engine 5, Engine 6, Squad 7, Engine 1, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, CFD Training Division, HCEMS, EPB and CPD responded.
