A garage fire was quickly extinguished by Chattanooga firefighters Saturday
night. At 6PM on 1/10/26, Blue Shift companies responded to a reported
residential structure fire in the 6400 block of Rosemary Drive. Engine 6
arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from the garage of the
residence. Engine 6’s crew pulled an attack line as Ladder 6 arrived and
began to set up their aerial to the roof and throw ground ladders around
the structure. Squad 7’s crew reverse laid a supply line to the closest
hydrant and used rotary saws to gain access through the front of the garage
door. Engine 6 and Squad 7 crews made entry through the garage and were
able to quickly get water to the seat of the fire as Ladder 7’s crew gained
access through the rear. Before the Chattanooga Fire Department’s arrival,
one adult and two children were able to safely escape the residence without
issue or injuries. Engine 8’s crew performed a primary and secondary search
of the main part of the residence while access to the garage was being
made, to confirm all parties were safely out of the structure.
The fire was quickly brought under control and the damage was limited to
the garage portion of the home. The cause of the fire is under
investigation at this time.
HCEMS, CPD, EPB and Red Cross assisted with mitigating the scene.
