CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Three Chattanooga Police officers are on paid administrative leave per protocol when an officer is involved in a shooting.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call in the 4700 block of Pawnee Trail at 11:25 Saturday night.
When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Several vehicles in the area were also damaged by gunfire.

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – A Chattanooga Police officer was shot in an exchange of gunfire Friday night on North Holtzclaw at East 3rd.
Officers were on scene for a street crime related detail and encountered a suspect at 9:41 pm. At some point during the stop, gunfire was exchanged and an officer and the suspect were both shot. The suspect’s condition is unknown; the officer is in stable condition.
Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy will hold a news conference this morning (Saturday) at 8:00 am at the Police Service Center, 3410 Amnicola Highway, to update.
UPDATE:
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Chattanooga Police traffic unit responded to a fatal motorcycle crash at 9:26 Friday night at 304 North Cherokee Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a gray Honda Element was turning left from East Manning Street onto North Cherokee and collided with a black Honda motorcycle. The 42-year-old motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital but died there from his injuries.
The driver of the car remained on scene and cooperated with police. The investigation is continuing.

The vandalism has been reported at several businesses in the Market Street, Broad Street, and M-L King Boulevard areas, including the historic Read House Hotel in the last week. CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga Police have made an arrest in this morning’s shooting at the Amazon Fulfillment Center at 7200 Discovery Drive.
20-year-old D’ante Jones has been taken into custody and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm during a Felony. Jones is charged with the shooting of a 19-year-old man on the Amazon property, approaching the victim and shooting him at close range. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition with life-threatening wounds.
