CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Chattanooga Police Traffic Division has identified a suspect in the July 8th hit and run death of 60-year-old Lisa Hill at 727 East 11th Street. 21-year- old Angel Waugh has been issued a criminal summons to appear in General Sessions Court on August 23rd on charges of Failing To Exercise Due Care and Leaving The Scene Of An Accident.
Hill was crossing East 11th Street at 11:00 in the morning on July 8th when she was hit by a Nissan Altima. The driver fled the scene. Hill was given CPR and taken to the hospital, but died at the hospital from her injuries.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Chattanooga police have arrested two people in connection with the fatal Monday night shooting of a 17-year-old male in the 3700 block of Highland Park Avenue.
20-year Mafia Marshall (DOB 12/12/02) and a 15-year-old male are both charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and reckless endangerment.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – A four-vehicle motorcade taking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to a campaign stop in Chattanooga was involved in a crash on I-75 South this morning just below East Brainerd Road.
The call came in at 8:15 involving the accident at Mile Marker 2.8. The motorcade came up on slow traffic and the lead vehicle had to brake quickly, which caused a rear-end collision involving the other vehicles. All the vehicles involved were government vehicles accompanying Governor DeSantis and his team to his scheduled event.

Mayor Tim Kelly today signed a proclamation declaring August Older Adults Month in Chattanooga and announced Aging with Grace, a July 29th gathering for older adults hosted by the Mayor’s Council on Livability and Aging, his advisory panel whose mission is to positively impact the lives of Chattanooga’s seniors.
“Chattanooga’s roughly 65,000 seniors are an important part of the fabric of our culture, and Older Adults Month offers a unique opportunity to uplift and celebrate all they bring to our community,” said Mayor Tim Kelly.
