CHATTANOOGA, TN. – CPD traffic investigators are on the scene of a fatal wreck in the 6400 block of Mountain View Road. One person was killed in the accident.
Investigators are asking the public to avoid the 6400 block of Mountain View Road north of Ooltewah High School until at least 4:30 this afternoon. Ooltewah Georgetown Road is a north-south alternate.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Police continue their investigation into this afternoon’s shooting of a 15-year-old on Bradt Street.
Officers responded to a person shot call in the 1600 block of Bradt Street at 4:23 this afternoon and found the juvenile with a gunshot wound. Medics took him to the hospital with what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury.
No one has been arrested yet, but investigators are following up on leads.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Chattanooga Police Department is hosting the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region 22 “Mini-Trials” at the Police Shooting Range on Moccasin Bend today and tomorrow, August 30th and 31st.
The USPCA was founded in 1971 and certifies K-9s across the country and is the nation’s largest police K9 organization. The trials are testing 21 officers and K-9s from 9 departments in Tennessee and Alabama on narcotics detection and patrol, including a series of different obedience commands that both the handler and K-9 must be able to complete.
CHATTANOOGA, TN. – Life-saving measures by Chattanooga Police weren’t enough to save a gunshot wound victim on Maryland Street late last night.
Officers were dispatched to Maryland Street near Spears Avenue at 11:42 Tuesday night on a call of a person shot. They found a 48-year-old man bleeding and unresponsive on the porch of a residence and administered CPR until medics arrived and took the victim to the hospital where he died from his injuries early this morning.
