Hixson Utilities has completed the repair of a ten-inch water main break. As a result, Dayton Blvd and all affected side streets and ramps connecting
to/from HWY 153 have fully reopened after a temporary pavement patch was laid. A future full closure will be required to schedule the permanent repaving of this patch.
Chattanooga firefighters spent all night tackling a woods fire. At 11:43 PM on 4/22/26, Green Shift companies responded to Stringers Ridge Park at 898 High Ridge Drive after 911 received multiple reports of visible flames and smoke from concerned citizens. The TN Division of Forestry also responded to that location where approximately an acre of land was burning.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 20, 2026) – The City of Chattanooga is launching a new Down Payment Assistance Program, and with a first-of-its-kind partnership with the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA), first-time homebuyers can access up to $21,000.
Funds are available to households earning up to 120% of area median income, approximately $92,000 for a two-person household and $114,000 for a family of four.

Wilcox Blvd Tunnel will be closed for inspection and cleaning on the
following dates and times:
- Friday, April 17th - 9 AM until 3 PM
- Sunday, April 19th – 7 AM until 2 PM
Detours will be posted, please plan for additional travel time while
traversing the detour route.

New information: 1999 Jane Doe homicide, Cannon Avenue Public Assistance Requested
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Police Department and the Office of the Hamilton County Medical Examiner are releasing new information in the
investigation into the 1999 homicide of an unidentified female whose remains were found in a creek along Cannon Avenue, closely paralleling Interstate 24. We are asking the public, near and far, for assistance in identifying her.
